Electronic Readers and downloadable eBooks

Problem: I have quite a lot of eBooks, which are all stored on my home laptop. I want to be able to read them outside, on the sofa, or in the toilet. For that my laptop is way too bulky. I want to get an eBook reader, an electronic reader, that I can upload my PDFs to.

Current status: pretty shitty. Most of the readers support PDFs only after some kind of a transfer or convert. It’s not as easy as simply plug the USB device and drag and drop your files to the reader.

The other thing is, it’s pretty hard to get those new eReaders. Amazon Kindle 3 is sold out, and buying the iPad now makes no sense, since the iPad 2 is soon to be announced, and it’s going to be a massive improvement from the first one.

Solution: some say get a netbook. This solution is not for me, the netbooks are maybe smaller than a laptop, but they are chunkier than the eReaders normally. And besides, their screen is not suitable for reading text, which was my problem in the first place. Right now I’m considering the iPhone as a middle solution, at least until the iPad 2 arrives the stores. But guys, this is really pissing me off.
